Stuttgart, July 20, 2015 - After successful verification by the independent TÜV SÜD Management Service GmbH, Luxor Solar has once again fulfilled all the requirements for certification in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 (quality management) and ISO 14001:2004 (environmental management). After the audit, the solar module manufacturer will once again receive both certificates this year.

“As this is the fourth time we have completed the certification process, the procedure and the requirements were very well known to us”, says Volker Leh, CEO and Quality Management Representative. “Within the company, internal processes and procedures are complied with in a stable manner. TÜV SÜD has confirmed both certifications again this year, and praised the company”.

360 kWp green-field systems in Croatia

Stuttgart, January 26, 2015 – Luxor Solar GmbH, producer of high-performance solar modules with German engineering standards, has built a green-field solar system in Croatia with a capacity of 360 kWp. The installation was realised with a strategic project partner and was connected to the grid last year. A further installation of similar size is due to be constructed in spring 2015 before the relevant licence becomes invalid. The two installations will be amongst the last of their kind in Croatia, as green-field systems will no longer receive sufficient support in this sunny country.

Luxor Solar also supplied 1440 polycrystalline Ecoline LX-250P modules for installations in Slavonia in the eastern part of the country. Once the contract was agreed, things moved very quickly. One day after receipt of payment, the first module was shipped to the installation site. Due to the high irradiation values and a feed-in tariff of approx. 14.5 cents per kWh, the installation will be amortised for its investor in under ten years. All the electricity produced will be fed into the grid. When funding runs out in 14 years, the investor wishes to support local farms with affordable solar power.

With more than 3.5 MW of installed capacity, Luxor Solar has a market share of about 10 percent in Croatia and is the market leader. In 2014 the Ecoline LX 250P was one of the highest-selling modules in the country. The polycrystalline best-seller is a guarantee of high economic efficiency. Excellent price and performance combine perfectly with the economic and geographical conditions in Croatia. The 60-cell module with a nominal power of 185 wP and a comparatively low voltage makes it possible to install more modules per row and thus lay out the inverters in a more economically efficient manner. These polycrystalline cells are leaders in the 6” size. Their advantage: they can be manufactured more economically, and they stand out thanks to their low temperature co-efficients....

125kWp solar system in Egypt

Stuttgart, Germany, 3 December 2014—Hammer Electric, a Cairo-based solar technology expert, has installed a 125kWp solar system on the building of the public administration department in the Egyptian city of Damanhur. The solar modules for the system were provided by Luxor Solar GmbH, a maker of high-performance solar modules, produced to German engineering standards.

While Egypt's consumers and industry are facing more and more power failures, Egypt is also a country with a global radiation of 2,000 to 2,500kWh/m2, making it one of the sunniest countries on earth. Power bottlenecks had also been a recurring issue for the public administration in the city of Damanhur in the north western Nile delta. To become independent, the city's administration decided to build a 125kWp system on the roof of the administrative building. Thanks to the high level of radiation, 500 Luxor Solar modules ensure a reliable power supply. About two thirds of the solar energy is used directly in the area, while the rest is exported to the public grid. The system's payback period for the agency is less than five years.

As there are often minor-quality or used modules found on the Egyptian photovoltaic market, Hammer Electric opted for a reliable module manufacturer headquartered in Germany. The polycrystalline Luxor modules are the best guarantor for high efficiency. The 60-cell module with 250 Wp nominal capacity and a comparatively low voltage makes it possible to connect several modules in series and to design more economical inverters. Luxor Solar polycrystalline 6" cells are the market leaders. Their benefit: They are produced efficiently and excel in a low temperature coefficient.

Egypt offers PV systems an attractive plan for exporting energy into the public grid, with prices ranging between 8 and 11 cents per kWh. The northern African country wants to use solar energy to bridge the large electricity supply gap within the next three to five years. Due to the lack of fuel, only 80 percent of the currently installed power generation capacity based on gas and oil is actually used. By 2020, the official target of the government in Cairo is to meet 20 percent of the energy demand with renewables. With its broad portfolio of high-performance modules, Luxor Solar envisages good market opportunities in the northern African country....

Solar Park Domsuehl

In Domsuehl, a small city in Mecklenburg-Pomerania, a new solar park is connected to the grid. The one megawatt plant is built of about 4500 solar modules of the product line Eco Line 60 from the Luxor Solar GmbH. On 90 tables, spread over an area of 3 hectares, the brand solar modules turn the energy of the sun in valuable emission-free current. This means in purely mathematical terms, thanks to their high plus tolerances they produce solar energy for more than 200 four-person households per year.

Investor of this major project is the Solarfaktor GmbH located in Waren/Müritz. Krannich Solar GmbH is responsible for the planning and built of the plant.

Thanks to the professional cooperation of all parties the whole project just took a few months from the groundbreaking at the beginning of August to the completion in autumn this year.

„The sunshine people are happy about another successful reference project“,  says Volker Leh, CEO of the Luxor Solar GmbH. „This means once more a small step to the decentralization of our national grid and to the switch to renewable energy.“...
